Atmosphere { W7T2 }

Walt: To learn and understand the atmosphere.
Task Description:
This week's inquiry we learn't about the atmosphere. Within this presentation we got given a video and text about that atmosphere, then our task was to full in the K-W-L chart then we had to do the following slide about the main points about our atmosphere. 

Kid President { W7T2 }

Walt: To build your best self with kid President.
Task Description:
This week for our final Friday task we focused on " Kid President. ". For our task we watcehd the video and took three phrases that inspired us and created three more to inspire others and list why we have chosen the six. Hopefully today's task can also inspire you with these new inspiritional quotes.

Lockdown Word Problems { W5T2 }

Walt: Justify our answers by showing our working out.
Task Description:
This week we focused on lock down word problems. Each word problem within this presentation are all based about Mc Donalds. The Mc Donalds questions made me very hungry but they really did help me understand and solve problems. 

Brown Brother Poem! { W7T2 }

Walt: To understand Brown Brother poem.
Task Description:
Today we focused on Brown Brother poem. We watched the poem that Joshua losefo presented as a speech at his school assembly, it became popular over time and soon he was mentioned on the news. With this task we have three questions that we needed to answer from the poem, my thoughts are also mentioned. Enjoy!

Hauora x Taha Wairua { W7T2 }

Walt: Build a healthy spirit with Taha Wairua.

Task Description:
For our last Te Whare Tapa Wha task for this week, we focused on Taha Wairua. Healthy spirit. As for our task we had to share a bible verse, poem, prayer or a inspirational quote that inspires us. My quote I've chosen is " Hard times are often blessings in disguise. Let go and let life strength you. No matter how much it hurts, hold your head up and keep going. This is an important lesson to remember when your having a rough day, a bad month, or a crappy year. Truth be told sometimes the hardest lessons to learn are the ones your spirit needs most. Your pas was never a mistake if you learned from it. So take all the crazy experiences and lessons and place them in a box labeled " Thank you. ". " On slide three I've shared a google drawing with my quote and the reason why I have chosen it for today's task. Hopefully my quote can also cheer your or someone else's day! Enjoy!!

Vocabulary { W7T2 }

Walt: Answer the following vocabulary words.

Task Description:
Today we focused on our vocabulary words listed in the google drawing given above. With our task we had to find the meaning of each word and present a sentence to show we actually understand the word given. I enjoyed today's task because I got to learn new words from a text called " A Tour like no other. "

Hauora x Taha Hinengaro { W7T2 }

Walt: Build healthy thoughts.

Task Description:
Today we focused on Taha Hinengaro, building healthy thoughts. Our today today was to meditate with soothing music for 3 minutes. By meditating we had to think of our feelings and thought of anything to relax us during this time. I enjoyed today's task because I got to meditate and relax. Enjoy! Te Reo Maori x Kia Ora { W7T2 }

Walt: Use and respond to formal and informal greetings.

Task Description:
This week for Te Reo Maori we focused on responing in Te Reo with either informal or formal greetings. With this task we will adventually learn to great elders or younger whanau with our Te Reo language. Hopefully by checking out this week's presentation you can also learn how to use different greetings. Our main task was to create a poster answering the following questions on slide 9. Enjoy!

Properties Of Shapes! { W7T2 }

Walt: Identify the properties of shapes in 3 by 3 dot grids.

Task Description:
This week we have foucsed on properties of shapes. Within this task we had to draw on a 3 by 3 dot grid eight different triangles and 16 quadrilaterals. With this task I found it hard finding different shapes and finding equal angles to write in the following grid. Enjoy.

Task Description:
Our taha challenge today is to do as much push-ups in one minute. Within today's presentation there is also a google drawing giving a video showing me and my class push-up challenge, theres also a short discription of how I felt during our challenge today. Enjoy!

Infographic x Nelson Mandela { W7T2 }

Walt: Create an infographic about Nelson Mandela

Task Description:
Today we have focused on Nelson Mandela. Our main task was to show a visual infographic about Nelson Mandela. On slide two presents our main focus for today. To complete this task I used a note-taker chart to pull key points from the National Geographic Kids text. With the main points I gathered all the information into category to create my infographic. To view my infographic check on slide five images to take a closer look. Within today's task I have learn't important facts and sacrifices Nelson took to make a huge impact in South Africa. I've also learnt how to make a infographic, hopefully soon I can improve and make a more advanced poster. Enjoy!

Hauora x Taha Whanau {W7T2}

Walt: Create a memory board.

Task Description:
Today for Te Whare Tapa Wha we focused on Taha Whanau. For our hauora task we had to create a memory board about the eldest person in our family. As for me I choose my dad. ( He's not the oldest. ) As for my poster I haven chosen four different shades of blue to decorate my poster. Each box describes my dad or explains his interests. The Water Cycle. {W6T2}

Walt: Explain the different stages of the water cycle.

Task Description:
This week's inquiry task we focused on " The Water Cycle. " With our task we had to get a simple and short explanation of what is the water cycle. As for slide three we had to label the process of water cycle with labels and words simply given by our teachers. Hopefully today's post can also educate you as well!

Genius Hour Topics!

Walt: Get prepared/ research for " Genius Hour "

Task Description:
Today we all got the opportunity to do genius hour! What could genius hour be? Well we get one hour to research topics where interested in. Sports, music, food, ect. Throughout the next few weeks we are going to be focusing on genius hours and in 6-8 weeks we will be presenting to our teachers we we've learnt from genius hour. Within this presentation I am focusing on Origami and the Korean language. ( Couldn't choose. ) Slide 2 and 3 presents facts about Origami that i've learnt which will help me in the future time. As for slide 4 there are facts about the Korean language, Hangul.

Hauora x Taha Wairua {W6T2}

Walt: To build a healthy spirit.

Task Description:
Throughout this week we have been focusing on all four elements of Te Whare Tapa Wha. Yesturday we focused on Taha Hinengaro. As for today's task we focused on Taha Wairua, spiritual health. Within today's Te Whare Tapa Wha presentation, our task was to create a card or write an email for someone we cherish. Within our cards we needed to write why we appreciate them and what they did. I've decided to create two cards. One to my dad the other to my mum! 

Covid-19 x Best Practice handwashing.

Walt: Write an instructional text using diagrams.

Task Description:
Due to Covid-19 we all have been taking precautions to keep Covid free! Today's topic is about the best practice for hand washing. Keeping our hands clean can avoid germs. We have been focusing on hand washing to instruct and explain to those who are not aware of the key steps to keeping our hands clean. The following poster within this presentation is a easy example on how we should be washing our hands. ( All resources are found on the interweb. ) We also had to focus on keeping the poster simple and easy to our younger sisters and brothers could understand the poster on how to wash your hands clearly.

Hauroa x Taha Hinengaro

Walt: Build Healthy Thoughts.

Task Description:
Today we focused on hinengaro. Within this presentation we had to complete one task. Firstly, we had to find inspirational quotes. With the quotes we found we had to write them down on a piece of paper and make a origami heart. With the origami hearts we have created, we could read any quote when we're not feelings alright. The purpose of today's task was to create something inspirtational that can build healthy thoughts. With Taha Hinengaro we can be happy and continue to think right.

Level 2 x Phone messages


Main point:
There's been many rumors going around about school being scary and parents being worried for their childrens health. Well, here at Pt England School you shouldn't be scared at all. Each student is safe and we all follow the Covid-19 rules. Cough and sneeze in elbow, wash hands thoroughly, use sanitiser, don't touch face or others, and of course be normal. So to all you parents and students don't worry. Each and every school in Aotearoa is following the correct rules to keep every child healthy, safe and Covid free! 

Here at Pt England School we follow the rules. Each student get's their own desk, tray, hand sanitizer before eating, before play time, before touching sports gear, after play, before home time, and every morning to keep germs away! Here at school I feel safe, so no doubt your tamariki will be as safe as I am too! 

Purpose of the image above:
What is this phone presenting? Well, our task today was to create a similar looking phone to show messages between you and someone who isn't attending school during level 2. My phone is a little example. The converstation shows fear from the gray specker, but the blue specker has been attending school and feels as safe as a baby. The purpose was to show a example. 

Hand Washing { W6T2 }

Walt: Understand and interpret an informational text.

Task Description:
Today i'm posting my final and completed task for this week. As for my recent post we focused on washing our hand correctly and thoroughly to get rid of any germs. For today's presentation we worked on finalishing 2-3 sentences to explain a short summary about the one paragraph we focused on. On slide three I have given a few facts I have learn't from my text.

Washing Hands - Note Taking { W6T2 }

Walt: Understand and interpret an information text.

Task Description:
This week our focus is about washing our hands thoroughly. Due to the Covid-19 problem we need to focus on washing our hands to get rid of any germs. Within this presentation we did discussion points, they can be found on slide 3. Our main task for this presentation was to focus on paragraph two, which every other group focuses on another paragraph given in the transcript. Within this presentation on slide five there is a templete showing the pargraph broken into word groups, main point, supporting details and the main point within the transcript. Hauroa x Taha Tinana { W6T2 }

Walt:  To build a healthy body.

Task Description:
Today we focused on Taha Tinana. Today's task we had focused on sharing a healthy snack or meal. Within this presentation I have provided a two recipes. The first recipe is to a healthy chicken salad, as for the second recipe it's a mango smoothie recipe! I enjoy the mango smoothie recipe the most so maybe you should check it out too!

Kei Hea A Amo?

Task Description:
This week for Te Reo Maori we focused on locations, specifically Amo. Through out this week presentation we learned a few Maori phrases and also had to do a recording of a conversation. To find out more please check out the presentation above!

Reading ( today's progress. ) Earth's Water!!

Walt: Identify and summarise key information in a text.

Task Description:
This weeks focus is on earth's water systems. Today we focused on detailed knowledge. Slide two presents our main question. What do you KNOW about earth's water originally came from? On this slide we had to note down information we already knew about planet earth's water. As you may find my notes are only two bullet points, due to me only learning about where our water comes from now. The following slide presents a video, the video is based around where did our earth water come from? Our task was to watch the video three times to find key information. The slide also contains a graphic organiser which contains our bullet points from the video, word groups, and so on. To find the graphic organiser me and my group worked on please check slide four!! Geometry: Angles!! { W4T2 }

Walt: Identify how many degrees are in a various angles and lines.

Task Description:
This weeks focus was geometry angles. The first slide we had to replace "?" with words given. Throughout this presentation we had to full in what degree is missing from any of the angles inside this presentation. I really enjoyed this weeks geometry because I got to understand how to understand angles and geometry words. Enjoy!!

Inner Core Presentation!! { W4T2 }

Walt: Effectively present scientific information.

Task Description:
This week we focused, like really focused on presenting scientific information. We had to really focus on create good detailed diagrams about a layer of earth. Each slide also has a voice recording which will explain each slide more with a better explanation. Next week we will be continuing with the inner core focus!!

Geometry! ( Half completed. ) { W3T2 }

Walt: Use Mat Plans to Create 3D Buildings.

{ Task Description: }
Welcomee to all! This afternoon i'm sharing half of my math's work for week three! Our focus for this week was geometry. We got the opportunity to use a online website to create 3D buildings make of blocks. The second slide presents simple instructions and a website link to the geometry building site. The next following slides each has a Mat Plan which we followed on the illuminations site. There's also a viewing of the building,  a explanation, and a view from the left, right, and top side of the Mat Plan in 2D version. ENJOY!

Earth's Structure!! { W3T2 }

Walt: Identify and summarise key information in a text.

{ Task Description: }
Welcome to week 3 task one for reading! This week was short only containing three days and so here i'm sharing my current completed work. This week we've focused on earth's structure. To find out about more about each slide please continue to read the following paragraphs.

Slide two , three and four explanation:
The very first slide notes down a few facts I already knew before hand to show my progress. The second slide includes a video about earth's layers. There's also a transcript from that very video. Our task for this slide was to break the text into words groups. By breaking the text into word groups we could understand the text more. The following slide is a quick summary of slide two transcript.

Slide five, six, and seven explanation:
Just like the other three slides we got given another video and a  transcript. The video we watched was based about inside our earth. The video was full of information about each layer. Our task for these slides was to use a graphic organiser to organiser as much information we could get from both the video and transcript. Inside the graphic organiser ( can be found on the following slide. ) was three questions. We focused on the three questions given and breaking up our text into word groups. ENJOY!
