My Ambitions For Term 4

Walt: Use correct sentences to help structure our writing

Term 4 has started , so let’s say goodbye to Netflix , Youtube , Games and say hello to a new term! This term topic is Te Wai Toi. Keep reading to find out what our topic means , what we’re learning , and many more!

This term is packed with all sorts of fun events!  My top three events that i’m mostly excited for is having a fun time with my friends and year 6 camp , watching the Manaiakalani films with my friends ,  and as well as learning and creating art projects. I can’t wait to do art and learn many things this term!

Since this term is packed with all sorts of fun events I have set some goals for myself so I can be more confident. As for the first goal I have set for myself is to become more confident in participating in physical activities for the upcoming year 6 camp! That reason is because I get shy doing fun activities , so I need to give everything a go. As for my last goal I have set for myself is to make a perfect animation since for the last couple of years my animation haven’t been quite drawn and animated correctly. So improving my animation would be great for my report.


As this term theme is based on art I have high hopes that we get to create paintings.  But one thing I would like to learn is culture paintings from Korea , China and many countries that have interesting art. As well as learning how countries used to create their paintings in the past  and the meaning of their paintings. I would like to learn about Monalisa.

Overall I can’t wait for all the upcoming events! I’m looking forward to all the upcoming events like year 6 camp and other things we’re doing this term , as well as trying to achieve my goals for being confident in all activities  that we’re going to be doing , and I can’t wait to learn about the meaning of different culture paintings and the famous painting Monalisa. Altogether I am looking forward to all fun learning and creations that i’m going to be doing this term.

Task Description:
For this task we wrote about what this term is about , what we are hoping to learn , and our term 4 goals. During this task we learnt how to write a proper conclusion to finish off our writing. I found that this task we slightly tricky because we had to write our body paragraphs correctly , and I find that there are some sentences that need help because of the words I used. I also found it hard to come up with goals for myself and I found it hard to explain what my goals are in my writing.

As for this silver medal problem we did some decimal problems. This decimal problem we had to is to take away from a decimal that my teacher gave me. Each problem had a different number for the decimal so we got different answers. I think that my answers were incorrect and correct.

First day back to school and we have got some decimal place value work. Here we are doing decimal work with place value. This here is a bronze medal problem that is set for us for our first task. In this presentation I converted a word form to place value in a table. With tens , one , point , tenths hundredths and thousandths.

Leilani - Titanic

The RMS Titanic was used for shipping mail , cargo and passengers. Unfortunately the Titanic had sunk in the North Atlantic Ocean on 14th of April - 15th of April 1912 , while going from Southampton to New York City. That night she , Titanic. Had collided with an iceberg on a very foggy night which caused the ship to sink. From my research she collided with the iceberg at 11:40 pm which was were Frederick Fleet spotted the iceberg very close to the Titanic. At 2:20 am the water levels increased more than before that her forward deck was under water , with her other half high up in the air with people still clinging to it. However , before some had said that the Titanic had sunk all in one. But when they found her ( which was in 1985 ) they saw that she was in two pieces. All on board the Titanic were 2,224 passengers and crew , maximum was 3,547. Around three thirds of passengers and crew had passed , either from the cold water , sunk or some had survived. Titanic had carried with her some very special and famous names with her like Edith Russell which had survived the sinking. From many of the readings I read , some say that most passengers would have survived the collide with the iceberg if the crew put more people on each lifeboat. So , I think that the meaning to that is more people from the crazy disaster could have survived. Another information I learnt was that Titanic might not be the real Titanic. Some say that the ship that sank is really Titanic’s sister ship Olympic. White Star Line couldn’t lose the amount of money from Olympic sinking so they simply switched their names around. However , if you don’t agree with this information please don’t take it off on me. I found this research about RMS Titanic.

85 years later James Cameron made a romance movie after the sinking of Titanic. While James Cameron was writing the script of Titanic , he modeled the character of Rose after Beatrice Wood. An American artist. 18 December 1997 , when James Cameron released his movie Titanic. It got heaps of hits , in fact Titanic became and still is in the top five highest grossing movie film of all time! But the movie of Rose and Jake isn’t in fact real. Rose and Jake are add on characters to make the movie Titanic more romantic. But in real life Rose and Jake are real people. Kate Winslet character for Titanic Rose , Leonardo Dicaprio character for Titanic is Jake. Both are now 43 years old. While the movie was in making Kate and Leonardo were 21 and 22. While I was reading about Titanic I didn’t find much information about Jake , but I found many about Rose. The movie Titanic is very sad but it’s a great movie at the same time.

One day I watched the movie Titanic , so I really wanted to research about Titanic so I did. All of these information most people won't agree with this writing so please don't do anything mean , because I just found the information. Leilani - My Holiday Recount!

As the last week of the holidays are coming to a close , I think it’s time to do a quick recount about what I did this holidays! What did you do this holidays?

Well let me start off with what I mostly did overall in the first week of this school holidays! Well I wished to watch some of my favourite shows on Netflix , but unfortunately I didn’t get to. I mostly spent some time with my dad’s side! Which is no problem at all. While I was there we went swimming , played games but I didn’t spend much time while I was there but it was fun!

As the last week of school holidays were approaching I choose to do some holiday blogging! My first post that I posted was a pick a path presentation that I was doing during school but I didn’t have much time to finish so I thought that doing that presentation would be great to do as my first post! But I didn’t just do blogging all week , I also did some fun things. Like during the weekends I had a barbeque with my mum's family! Next couple of days I hang out with my dad , did some shopping and now all I have is the weekends left to enjoy with my family. Oh and by the way I watched my favourite shows on Netflix! Also I am reading a book called “ Jake in space

Anyways so this holidays have been GREAT! Spending time with my family and friends , posting on my blog and making other people happier how great! Now that’s what you call a fantastic holiday! Right , maybe not? Hahaha! Moving on! Overall this holidays have been the best! How was yours?

Leilani - My Fun Day!


As I was getting ready in the morning I didn’t know how much fun was coming towards me. As I as well as two of my cousins waited we played some very fun and exciting games. Not long after we were heading to the pools. As I walked into the pools I felt excitement rushing through my bones and the smell of chlorine coming from the pools. Not to lie but there were a bunch of kids and adults swimming in all the pools , but not in the one we swam in.

While I was getting prepared to swim my nana was quite concerned about my height in a deep pool. I explained to her that I was going to be fine and so she trusted me , so off we went! As my whole body entered the pool I could feel a rush of coldness running through my feet to my arms , now I could say that it was very , very cold! Not long after my body got used to the coldness. Myself and my cousins swam , had races , laughed , tricked each other and just enjoyed our time at the pools. Our plan at the beginning was to have 30 minutes each in two pools , but since we really enjoyed our time in the first we stayed even longer! As we were swimming there was a lot of laughter , getting tired and struggling ( no lie but I was the one struggling! ) , but as all the fun time went fast by it was time to get out and go home. So we did. Walking home wasn’t a mission at all ( by the way we’re going to my aunties house. ) We ate some nicely cooked chips and bread for lunch and headed to my place.

Around two minutes later we had arrived at my house! My first thing that I did was go for a shower , of course. After that time myself and my cousin started to plan a treasure hunt. But as that time went by we had to leave a do some other things. Not long after we came back home and carried on with what we were doing. Both my cousin and I thought that doing a treasure hunt would be quite boring so we moved onto doing something else. This idea was supposed to be a truth or dare game but it ended up as a water balloon fight in jeans and clean clothes! From the really hot heat that water balloon fight cooled us down a lot. For hours and hours we played , laughed , got tired , made up games and just had a bunch of fun. But after all that fun time it was time for my cousin to go home. We said goodbye and so she lefted. So that was basically how my day went.

Task Description:
For this task I have written a descriptive writing about my day. This task I have wrote three paragraphs , not thinking about the right strictures of how to write. But I wanted this writing to be free and just a good writing. As I was writing I was thinking of descriptive words instead of boring , plain words. My writing I tired to explain things correctly and easy for people to understand what I wrote. For this task I had learnt how to use other words instead of using the same over and over again , as well I learnt how to be more descriptive of how I felt , what I smelt and just how I was. I enjoyed this task a lot because I got to write! Hopefully you did or you are going to.

Second post of the holiday! Hopefully all of everyone has been enjoying my new posts. As for this one I joined with one of my fantastic friends Lillyana. This presentation is all about a quiz! Our theme was food. Both of Lillyana and I spent time re searching important information about a perspective food that we'd like to learn about or get information about the question that will answer our questions correctly. Most of our information came from Wikipedia because I mostly trust their information. From this task I had learnt many information about treats that I didn't know , most of the information that I learnt was a lot that happened in the past.

Leilani - Pick A Path - Bird Version!

Task Description:
Welcome! This here is my very first task for the school holidays! As most of yous may tell from the first slide , this post is a pick a path! Usually I won't do these types of things but this week I have felt like doing one. So before you start reading. This pick a path main character is a Blue Jay ( a type of bird )

Leilani - Creative writing - Superpowers!




Walt: Write effective paragraphs using juicy and exciting words.

Intro
What IF I had as many powers as I want and what ever powers I want? Well the answer to that question would be impossible to have in real life , but my DREAM power would be very helpful to all. Nice to meet yah my name superpower name is MR! ( Aka Mind reader! )

Body paragraph 1
The question that most people ask me is , how did I get my mind reading super powers? It all started in 2007 I was eight or something ( how am I supposed to know!? ) Anyways , one day at home on a Wednesday ( yes , maybe I was wagging ) I wanted to know what my mother was thinking about me weather she loved me or not. I fell asleep and had a very interesting dream. As soon as I woke up from my nap I felt a little bit dizzy and really tried. Two long hours later I looked at my mother and saw what she was thinking. I wondered what was happening weather it was a prank or not! I end up getting the hang of it and I figured out how to use my power to help the world out more.

Body paragraph 2
As for my dream power I would like MIND READING , the mind reading helps me read people’s mind. My mind reading power from my point of view looks like the a huge blue board with what they are thinking , about them , what they like , strength and weakness , but mostly what they were/are thinking. I even can see what the person wish is! While I mind read others mind I mostly feel like a stalker invading their privacy without their permission but I SOMETIMES I do ask for permission. Did you know that I give them their wish and the next day on the news it says something marvelous?

Paragraph 3
Well , I could use my superpowers for giving or making people wishes or what they need come true. Not because they want them it’s because they might need it. I could use my superpowers in the world to help homeless people or normal people that are in need to get what they want or need. Like giving them a job , better life , education and much more that would help them out a lot.

Conclusion
I say that having mind reading powers would be awesome is because I get to help people on what they want and I just pretty cool to read others minds. Mind reading is a pretty cool super power. If you had any superpower what would it be?

Leilani - Room 7 Students Typing Per Minutes Speed!

Today task room 7 did a words per minute digital and old version. We got given one minute to write as many words as we could in one minute. We had a couple of rules that we needed to follow which were the words had to make scene and you couldn't repeat/write the same word again. Once we finish writing for one minute we sorted out our score data and transfers it into a bar paragraph. By clicking different buttons and transferring numbers and letters. My score that I got from this write per minute was 39 words in my document.

Hi there , I see you ( not ) but welcome to MY story about a extremely , hard escape room that let say some people took. At the end they passed and won some things that weren’t what you could imagine someone would’ve owned ( that reason is because it actually money! ). Let’s get this rumble on! ( Aka let me start telling you this story ).

As Fall and Nathan ( the main characters ) entered the extremely hard escape room , they took a 360 look around the room to get a idea look. As both walked into the escape room the door shut locked behind them. “ You , “ “ Ah! “ yelled Fall because she got a fright from the loud speaker. “ YOU may start , good luck! MUAHAHAHA “. 5 minutes passed , 10 minutes passed , 20 minutes passed and now 30 minutes passed. What have they been doing for the pass 30 minutes!? “ Fall , have you found ANY clues! “ said Nathan in an angry tone , “ Have you!? “ replied Fall. ( Pause ) , so they are not going well at all maybe they need more time? As another 20 minutes passed both Fall and Nathan found ¼ of clues which didn’t really help them at all!

After 10 minutes of Nathan sitting down while Fall is doing most of the work , he finally helped. “ Shh “ said Fall , they both turned around and saw that the wallpaper had ripped off the wall! “ DUN DUN DUNNNN!! , “ “ okey? “ said Nathan while laughing. They looked closer. “ M , L , L , I? “. Hmm , what could that mean? , “ I MIGHT KNOW! “ screamed Fall , Nathan on the other hand was clueless. ( That’s his problem that he didn’t HELP! , anyways moving on ). As Fall was gathering clues that she had already found , Nathan seemed to find three clues and gave them to Fall. “ Hey Nathan “ said Fall , “ Can you please help me with this I think that you would figure something out , “ “ Sure! , while I was sitting down I had a feeling you would ask me to do something like this so , I waited “ replied Nathan. Fall didn’t really care.

“ 10 minutes remaining! “ said the loud speaker. Both Fall and Nathan started freaking out and worrying about if they were going to escape or not! “ There! “ Nathan found out that each clue had a letter that spelt something , but he wasn’t too sure. “ WHAT! “ shouted Fall , Nathan told her what he had found out. “ Well in this first clue there is the letter I , as in this clue the letter is O , then in this there is another letter I. Now all the letters in these clues are I , O and I “ . “ Great idea , I think we have to place all letters together and it will come up with a seven letter word since there are seven spaces on this word lock. “ Maybe let’s put I , O , I from the clues together with M , L , L , I from the wall paper tearing off the wall all together “ explained Nathan. “ Sure , but there is only one letter left to find. As before they started the escape room they got given an Ipad with on clue , the clue said “ One of your name initial goes with the name lock. ( Are you at the end of your chair? , GOOD! ) “ N “ Shouted Fall. While they were coming up with different word I would say that the funniest word they came up with was nothing! , because they already knew the word MILLION! They entered Million to the pin pad as well as the word lock. “ BEE PPPP “ The door unlocked!

“ CONGRATULATIONS! Nathan and Fall! , you both have won one million dollars each! “ cheered a guy in a very fancy suit with a unique blue bowtie. As Nathan and Fall walked into the room full with balloons and confetti their faces were full with gratefulness! As well as happiness! Many hours later Nathan and Fall got received there money and went back home to enjoy the money. THE END. Hopefully you enjoyed this story!!

Task Description:For this task we are doing a creative writing about anything but it must be sensible. Mine is about an extremely funny escape room. As for this writing I wrote one introduction , three main body's and one conclusion. Our goal for this writing was to make a good writing with good punctuation also to make the story funny.

Leilani - Fangs: The Sequel!

Task Description:
As for this week work for the Imac's it was slightly hard just because we needed to not  be lazy of what we type. Before we typed anything for the answer we mostly talked about the question and thought about it before we wrote anything. The book that went with this presentation is called " Fangs: The Sequel " as for this book it's is all about two character Lydia and Madeline going to a carnival with Lydia's little brother Zac. Zac goes missing and gets found by Madeline the vampire. She see's him with a fake vampire holding him up and Madeline re-acts and helps him out. I've learnt in this task to understand what I am reading and learning about.

Leilani - Personal Trainer Math Working.

Walt: Solve problems using Ratios

Task Description:
This week we are learning about ratios and how we would figure them out. We got this presentation about a personal trainer and how long it would take him to see a certain  amount of client with the hours. The personal trainer also gave how much clients he wants to see and we had to figure out how long it would take him to see a certain amount of his personal clients. From this weeks math work I learn't how to understand the ratios and how to figure them out in easy but different ways.

Leilani - In and out the window reading recount.

Task Description:
For this task we had to read a book called " in and out the window ". The cover of the book and the name of the book is very weird and mysterious  but once you read the book it fantastic and funny. Once we've completed the reading we read our book aloud to our self while we are recording us reading. After that we wrote a very detailed review on the end slide that explain how we enjoyed or not enjoyed the book , what it was about and what we learnt from it. This reading was very interesting from the book and as for the activity it was very fun because we got to be creative with the slides and we got to read the book aloud.

I've learnt how to read each word carefully and take my time. Leilani - Picking up rubbish recount!.

These days rubbish is really affecting our earth! So we decided to tidy up our school field and our Pt England Reserve , cleaning it up made our place much more cleaner! Have you ever picked up rubbish to keep your community clean?





Earlier before we lined up we got told that we were going on a mysterious walk down to our school reserve , to pick up rubbish!. To get to our destination we lined up silently and walked out of our school gates in the very cold , soaking grass weather. After a couple of stops , walking and talking we finally arrived at our Pt England reserve. I was feeling really cold , yet I knew that this was going to be a great cause for our community. We all gathered in five groups of five , straight after that we all got handed a rubbish bag each! I thought okay we are just picking up rubbish , but why did we get into groups of five? Two seconds later we got told that it was going to be a competition , as for the team that wins they will get ten minutes of cool maths game!





As soon as Mr Goodwin said “ Go “ Levonah sprinted off like a cheetah to find all kinds of rubbish! Lucky our Pt England Reserve was beautiful and clean , but yet Pt England School wasn’t so clean and we were letting our community down. So next we headed to zone three ( our bottom field ) everyone knew that there were always rubbish all along the fence so most people went there! But not Marika! , since she is always at the bottom field playing by the stumps she definitely knew that there were a bunch of rubbish everywhere just hiding in the gaps! We kept moving onto other locations in the school like our top field. Levonah and Marika were always coming in with a bunch of rubbish in their hands , but yet Eden had two pairs of shoes in both hands instead of rubbish! Walking around seeing so many birds and us picking up rubbish made me feel good because birds are eating rubbish but since we are picking it all up only the birds would eat the right food.





Once we finished picking up rubbish in our school and reserve , Mr Goodwin called the class to line up in their lines in-front of the library door. Haare checked each teams rubbish bags to see who would win the competition. In Hopes team they had a huge bark sitting at the bottom so they were disqualified , and as for my team Eden nearly put a pair of sandals into our rubbish bag. We were all laughing a lot at Eden! I was feeling really nervous about who was going to win , Haare finally announced the winner but we didn’t win at all. Picking up rubbish wouldn’t be something I would have imagined as for doing something fun , but I knew that this was for a very good cause.





Picking up rubbish I thought would’ve been so lame , but instead it wasn’t. I really realized that when your enjoying yourself while picking up rubbish just made the whole occasion much funnier and better. I would recommend picking up rubbish wherever you are , or just as doing it as a act of kindness to mother nature!

Task Description:


For this task we went out to pick up rubbish. Once we've done picking the rubbish up we wrote a great recount about our experience. We checked each paragraph and found our mistakes. I've learnt how not to be lazy when I write and how to write in a better language.

Leilani - Whoah That's Fast!

I've learnt how to read the text problem before moving into the working. Another thing I've learnt in this problem is too figure out these problem good.

Task Description:
For this task we got to do a math presentation about speed , time and measurement. There are three different slides , each slide has a different problem. I've learnt how to understand each question and to read the question before moving onto the working and making sure I understand the text.

Leilani - A Healthy Week!

Task Description:
For this task we got a timetable and in that time table we had to write about what an average kid my age should do or can do to have a healthy and successful week. Once we've written out what an average kid should do in a week to be healthy we had to also in-clued how long each vigorous activity would take , next we calculated how long all activities would be in a week. Everyday your supposed too be doing at lest one hour of fitness and day to keep healthy. My total of hours and minutes were 8 hours and 20 minutes. Obviously  theses are all made up vigorous activities so ya. Enjoy!

For this task we wrote in the thinking bubbles about what each marvel or dc character is thinking about. We got given 3 pictures of photos of each person. After we finish writing in the thinking bubbles we watch a short story and wrote about what the video. We had to include what the said clearly!.

For this task we are acting a scene about either ice-cream , basketball , teacher and making it in our own ways. Write the scene was very fun because we got to ack out a scene with a friend and sometimes we would present in front of our classroom. Write the scene made me more creative!.

For this task we read a book about Ki O rahi. Than we got to do a task about a vocabulary. We had to find the meaning of each word. Once we've done our vocabulary we got to decorate and learn more about each word. For this task i've learnt to figure out what each word is in English and Maori.

Leilani - Immersion Assembly!.

This week was the first day back to school!. Everytime we are back at school we have a SPECIAL immersion assembly , were teachers present movies and videos about what their team is going to be learning about for the term!. Has your school ever had a SPECIAL immersion assembly?.

Our school theme is “ Move Ya Body “!. I think that move your body means to be healthier than we are , because moving your body can make your body and your life much more happier. Another way I think that move your body helps in school is that , it keeps us moving around , playing more sports so that we can also be fit . Overall being hydrated is a great way to being healthy , that way after exercising , playing sports or on a very hot day being hydrated can keep you healthy also drinking water is also very healthy for your body.

This term theme for team 4 is all about staying active. As well as doing vigorous sports , so that you can keep your body healthy. The team 4 movie was very funny , but they weren’t vigorous ( vigorous is like hard working and don’t give up) sports. Overall I think that team 4 topic involves us to create our own fun sports and it seems like we are going to be doing a lot of sports and physical activities.

For this term I want to learn about nutritious food and facts about being healthy. But I hope that we get to play some kind of sports twice a week to keep fit for cross country and athletics day!. I think that making up our own vigorous sports would make this term theme more funnier and better , to make us kids more into this terms theme. This “ Move Ya Body “ idea is great! , it would definitely keep us much more healthier!.


Overall I think that this term theme is great!. I especially think that “ Move Ya Body “ theme is definitely going to keep us healthy and fit , as well as keeping us more active!. Move Ya Body is going to make me play more sports , do more vigorous sports and just be more fit and healthy.

For this task we got to write about our first assembly for the term our immersion assembly!. We wrote different types of sentences , paragraphs and more. I've learnt how to use different types of sentences and use more words in my writing.

For this task we got to do a gold medal problem. What we had to do is figure out how much of the money you put into the parking meter time would it last for. I mostly timed and pulsed most of the problems.

Task Description:
For this task we got to  do a sliver medal problem once we've done with the bronze medal problem. This problem is a bit different from the bronze medal problem. As for this one we had to see how many minutes until the teachers are going to get home and how many minutes until a certain time. As for the last slide we had to see what the time was and how to see how many minutes were until our next bell at school would go off.

What Have i done?





Well this holiday i’ve been catching up with some friends and family. I’ve also been learning some things like what is a bruise? , how to keep healthy and many more.





What Am I Doing This Holiday For My Blog?





So i’m thinking of doing much more blog post in all different ways like on doc’s , doing quizzes , presentations and many more idea that i’m think of. This last week of the holiday i’m going to be learning new things so that my learning goes up.
