Ratios And Proportions! [ T4W8 ]

Walt: Solve ratio and proportion word problems.

Task Description:
This week we focused on ratios and proportions. Here we had to complete multiple questions based around both ratios and proportions. In this slide I haven't completed all questions as I did run out of time and they were hard. 50% of these questions were difficult and were quite a challenge so I skipped it.

MeMe and Me!

Walt: evaluate the writer's purpose. 

Task Description:
This week we focused on a book called MeMe and Me. This book was based on a girl have a alter-ego and basically taking over her. Our task was to answer a set of questions and rewrite the ending part of this story.

Narrative Writing [ T4W5 ]

Walt: Create a narrative (based on an image)

Task Description:
This week we focused on creating a narrative based on one image. My image showed multiple swimming out at sea. My narrative was based on a orphanage and them going out for a swim.  

Word Problems [T4W5]

Walt: Find more than one way of solving different word problems.

Task Description:
This week we focused on solving word problems. In this presentation we got given multiple word problems to solve. The second step of doing our work I didn't get the opportunity to finish as it's the last day for the week. This week I enjoyed solving different problems.

Probability [ T4W4 ]

Walt: Work out the probability that something will happen

Task Description:
Here we focused on probability. Probability is involved in percentages, fractions, and also big math's words. As for this presentation we got a few statements and our job was to figure out the probability of what will happen. I included the percentage and fractions. Enjoy!

Narrative * T4W4 *

Walt: Create a narrative

Task Description:
This week we focused on creating a narrative within six sentences. These six sentences we had to describe the characters and their problems. I enjoyed this weeks writing as I got to write about different narratives. Enjoy!

Genomics * Explaning *

Walt: To something to present what DNA is. 

Task Description:
This week for genomics we got to look more at DNA and all. We focused mostly on DNA and the chemicals that form DNA. One task we had to do was understand a video we were given then show our learning which is what I did here! 

Museum Trip 2019!

On the first of November Pt England School team five got the opportunity to visit the Auckland Museum with KMPG! This day was extremely exciting as we got to view different sculptures.

This day started with an exciting trip too on a school bus to Auckland Museum. Once we got there we meet all helpers. Not to long after all the house rules were set we got put into our Museum groups with a helper from KMPG.

During this day we visited all floors of the Museum and looked at different sculptures that were throughout the whole Museum. One of the highlights from this day was getting to see the bones/skeletons of extinct animals! I find bones and skeletons very amazing as there are many reasons behind it.

Also, here and there throughout out this day we got to have a fun play time and eat cupcakes/muffins with students from Pt England School and helpers from KPMG!

On behalf of most people who attend this fun Museum day I would like to say thank you KMPG for taking a bunch of students to the Auckland Museum for an exciting day. Also, thank you for many of you helpers for helping us kids stay safe and mostly have fun!

Springers [ W3T4 ]

Task Description:
For this task we focused on a book called springers. This book was based on a young girl, a dad, and a grandmother who is old. Our task was to understand the story and then complete a set of questions that our teacher gave us. After we completed the set of questions we got to act out some part of a scene in the book! This task was quite fun and challenging!
