Should Students Wear School Uniform?

Task Description:
This week we focused on supporting opinions with relevant or convincing evidence to prove our readers that if or if not school uniforms should be worn. My evidence would hopefully prove to people that wearing school uniforms is unnecessary.

Nerve Cells!

Walt: To understand what nerve cells are.

Task Description:
This week we focused on nerve cells for genomic. Our task this week was to watch a couple of videos based on nerve cells. Once we understood what nerve cells were we got to opportunity to buddy up with someone ( Calais. ) and work on creating a poster to inform others what nerve cells are. Here i'm sharing with yous all a hopefully informative poster based on nerve cells I created with my buddy Calais. Learning about nerve cells and how they are all connected was really simple. What Is Blood?

Walt: To understand what is blood.

Task Description:
This week we are focusing on blood cells. Our task was to first watch few videos based on what is blood to help us understand what blood cells are. After we were able to create a poster or presentation explaining what blood cells are, and here it is! I worked with a buddy ( Calais. ) to complete this task. We got as much information as we needed to inform others.

Technology Wood - Hard Materials !

Hard Materials. 

I used a piece of paper, pencil and a ruler to make a full size working of my project because when creating your project in wood you can't make mistakes and by planning out your full size working on a piece of paper that idea can be avoided. 

I used a ruler, tri-square and a pencil to copy the measurements from my drawing onto a pieces of wood because without those specific measurements cutting the wood wouldn't be even and smooth.

I than marked a square line ( at a 90 degree. ) to copy the measurements from my drawing onto the block of wood to be able to cut the piece of wood to create a joint.

I than cut off the first piece of wood using a bench hook and a backed saw to cut all pieces of wood so I could be able to create a box. After I then repeated the cutting steps to create the box.

After all pieces were cut out I was able to clue all of them together to create a completed box.  

Should Everyone Learn More Than One Language!?

Kia Orana, Talofa Lava, Kia Ora, Hello, Bon Jour, and Ni Hao! Did you understand what I just said? If not then maybe if everyone learns more than one language we can create more population! And understand more words in different languages to relate to others.

Creating Projects:Have you ever came upon an amazing looking project but! It's in a different language? It sucks yeah I know, but how can we prevent this annoying accident? Well if everyone learns and understands a new language maybe this accident would not happen as often. This way gives others more of an opportunity to explore a project of yours and clearly understand it to share with others.

Making stronger connections:Mandarin Chinese, English and Hindustani are the top three most spoken languages in the world! There is a 50 percent chance you will come upon one person speaking either one of these languages. But to avoid this awkward situation may be learning one more language can be more beneficial.

Job opportunities:Having the ability to speak and understand two languages gives you more of an advantage towards job seeking. Communication in workplaces is extremely important, especially if you working at an international office who are considering bilingual as a high priority.

Learning more than one language can give you more of an advantage towards international projects, making stronger connections and job seeking. Maybe you should try this out?

This week we have been focusing on finding a specific purpose for a topic that our teacher gave us. This week's topic is about Plastic Free July. Our task was to find key information about create and create a detailed poster about the information that we already found.

Scratch - World Journey!

Task Description:

Today i'm sharing with you all my inquiry for term 2. This inquiry task consist of background I drew on hyper studio, which is were I get to select a image of the country, continent, and world map to complete my backgrounds. We had to create these background too show a world journey. 

After we had finish our backgrounds we had to code an animation to show to our classmates. To code we used Scratch to code them together, the coding part was simple as I already knew how to code from 2018. 

After coding we screencastify our scratch project to share with others. Our main focus for this was to understand how coding works!

Problem Solving! Week 4!

Walt: Illustrate howl solved each problem.

Task Description:
This week I am sharing with you all my new maths task. This task consist of my problem solving. This task was to help us learn how to explain how we figured out our answers easily. Let's see what this week maths is!

The three slides we had to figure out how many chip packets were in each box. This equation was hard when starting because I was unsure on how to solve it, but by the time I finally realised I was figuring out my question wrong these problems were easier to solve. I really liked these first three slides because I challenged myself to figure out easier ways to figure out problems.

Moving onto the next two slides we had the job of figuring out how many money our teacher ( Mrs IIaoa. ) would have saved by a specific week. I found these questions easy as all we needed to do in multiply and take risks.

Our last task was to also figure out a problem , this problem consist of me using a grid and using multiplication to solve the question out. Throughout this problem I couldn't answer all of the questions as they were hard to answer so I had to brake it up and solve it a different way. I really liked this first one because I got to multiply numbers!

Well that's it! This here is week 4 maths work. This work was very interesting and very fun. I got to learn different and easier ways to answer my maths equations. Enjoy!

Investigation!

Walt: To do a investigation on Libya.

Task Description:
This week we got assigned to find a country starting with the first letter of our name and do a investigation about that country. This country I choose here is Libya.

Our task was to answer a bunch of questions, I only got through three questions. The first question was " How was your country created? " This question was quite hard because in articles about Libya I couldn't find much facts about how Libya was mostly created. But I tired to find as much facts as I could to provided enough facts to answer my question.

Our second question that we were given was " Who is the biggest celebrity in that country? What do they do? " Now this question wasn't as hard as I thought. But the most hardest thing about this question was to find out who was actually the most famous person in Libya. Most people I found were from year ago but I came across this guy.

Our last question we had to answer was " Has your country ever been in war? How did it go? " The question wasn't hard either, but the fact that it was quite hard to find out if they did good our not was hard to find. So I just tired my best to find out any facts about a war in Libya.

I really enjoyed this task because I got to learn about a new country , and I also learnt new facts about Libya. Enjoy!

For this task after we found information about Jane Campion I made a google drawing which shows two groups label as personal information and the second box labels work related information. Once I label two groups I added the information I found all together in each group. Here is the results. Bye!

Letter To Ms Tapuke.

Dear Ms Tapuke ,

My name is Leilani and I am looking forward to being in your literacy class for 2019! I have a family of four. Myself , my older sister and my parents. We all enjoy going out for dinner since all four of us are always busy with school and work. My mum is Cook Island and my dad is Maori. I am blessed to be both cultures as I can express them both by sharing the culture around , dancing and singing to others.

I love to watch Korean dramas as they are very interesting and great to watch. My favourite is She Was Pretty! This show is so interesting I also enjoy attending Pt England School because everyday I get to learn new things in different subjects like reading , writing and maths. I enjoy doing reading and writing although I get stuck most of the time because I struggle to write a lot because my fingers hurt.

This year I am hoping to improve on my maths as some equations are hard to solve. I want to focus on learning year seven problems so I am ready for year eight. Or even learn much more that is higher than year seven. Wondering why I want to learn so much this year? Well the answer to that is because in the future I want to get a scholarship to a college when I turn year eight. This reason is because I want to get into a good college so I can get a good education for future time.

A fun fact I would like to share about myself to Ms Tapuke would be that currently I am going to my first swimming lesson this weekend! I am not confident in swimming so my Whanui signed me up and every weekend I go swimming lessons. This way can help me improve in swimming so I can save myself in any dangerous water situations. I am hoping that my swimming lessons can make me more confident in swimming.

Task Description:

Welcome to all! Today I am sharing with you my very first task I have completed in my literacy class. This task we had to write very interesting facts about yourself to share with our teacher Ms Tapuke! As you can see I wrote a lot about myself. Four paragraphs which include some of my hobbies , my family , goals , what I enjoy doing on a normal day , as well as just sharing fun facts about myself. Concluding The Journey!

Activity 3: Concluding the Journey [10 points]

Sadly, the Summer Learning Journey has now come to an end. It is time to reflect on everything that you have learned about the environment and, particularly, about how you can protect and preserve it.

On your blog please tell us:

1. What is one thing that you learned from participating in the Summer Learning Journey programme this year?

Well before I would like to give the answer to this very first question i'm going to be telling you's all something very heart breaking , which most of yous will already know but. Unfortunately this is my last Summer Learning Journey post! I have been enjoying every moment but either this year or next year I can participate once again. Anyways , one thing that I have learnt from participating in the Summer Learning Journey program this year was learning about birds. This activity was week four , day three , activity one. On this day and activity we got to learn about birds and choose one. These birds we were choosing was from a website where people could vote for the bird that they want for bird of the year. 

What is one thing that surprised you?

Well the one thing that mostly surprised me was the super cool activities that the Summer Learning Journey team put together for us participants. Each activity was fun and we all had lot's to learn about.

I'm also going to add onto that and say my second thing that surprised me which was the facts.

Each day we got to do amazing activities that the team put together and each time we did one we 

learn't new facts , which each fact always surprised me.

What is one thing that concerned or upset you?

Well once again I have two things that have upset myself. The very first thing that has upset me is the Summer Learning Journey activities stopping. I enjoyed each one and every effort the team putinto these activities. Without them I bet my learning would be going downwards. But it's going up.

My second thing that is concerning me or that has upset me is that our world is getting effected by 

pollution , air pollution , rubbish , plastic just everything destroying our planet. Which means

the future generations are not going to have a chance of having a clean planet.

1. What is one thing that you (or your family) can do, moving forward, to help protect our natural environment?

The one thing that we can do to protect/help the environment is to just keep trying our best at everything , that can help our planet. Maybe my family and I can try the ' Tag Your It ' challenge. 

Maybe in 2019 we can join more community service that are helping our rivers for example.

Hopefully in the future my family and I are doing better at helping the planet and our natural

environment.
