Task Description:
Since I've had a bunch of time to complete different types of work I've decided to focus on another kiwi kids news article. This time I've focused more on the Auckland Elephants being relocated overseas. ENJOY!

Task Description:
This week for a quick task for reading, we got the opportunity to read a article from kiwi kids news. A website full of interesting articles. I've choosen to focus on the Mental Health Day which occurs on the 10th of October. By answering simple questions given from my teacher, I've took a better understanding about this event. ENJOY!

Piet Mondrian! { W7T4 }

Task Description:
Due to our theme being art based we've focused on a famous artist, Piet Mondrian. Within this task we've taken a close look at Piet Mondrian life, and taking close looks at his first paintings and how much skill he's made since the first time he's ever painted. I've also learned about the meaning behind a few of his paintings and in all honesty what inspires him to paint is really cool. ENJOY!

Loss Of Biodiversity! { 3&4 }

Task Description:
This week we've focused on the loss of biodiversity, we've payed close attention to the main causes and main effects that climate change, plastic pollution, pollution, over hunting ect cause. With this weeks task i've learned way more about the loss of biodiversity and I now understand that I'll need to be careful with the things I use in my everyday life as it can harm our animals, creatures and insects!

Plastic Pollution { W1T4 }

Task description: 
As plastic pollution is becoming a serious issue we are starting to pay close attention towards this problem. With these weeks task we learned the causes of plastic pollution and the effects it has towards our earth. A simple plastic pollution poster can be found on the very last slide, explaning both causes and effects of plastic pollution. Within this task I've mostly enjoyed completing the " explain. " task, as I had to research high frequency context from our text.

Tongan Heros! { T3W9 }

Task Description:
As Tongan language week is coming to a end, so is our Tongan theme activities. Reading this week was all focused on Tongan heros, mostly new heros. So, with today's task we had to create a profile on a MORDEN DAY hero. The text given on slide two as a collection of stories about traditional and mordern day Tongan heros. ENJOY!

Task Description:
This week we focused on a major event. A birthing of a new baby rhinoa at Auckland Zoo! The first task completed was breaking up the text into word groups. The text we got was just a excerpt from a long articale. An excerpt is one part of a text. Unfortunatly, with this week's recording my microphone hasn't been so much help! As for our following task we used one word group and made four basic sentences out of them! And of course, a create task of two choices! ENJOY!

Rata And The Totara Tree! { T3W6 }

Task Description:
This week we focused on another Maori legend, Rata and the Totara Tree. Within this task we got given two texts, one audio and one video explaining what this story is about and Maori problems that are happening right now! Our first task was to create a detailed story board, this story includes images and a little text beneath each image explaining whats happening in the photo. The following slide we had to break the text into word groups. Doing this helps us understand the text more and when we read our text is sounds less rushed. There's also a recording of myself reading the text when passion. As usual, we got given word groups. With this slide we found a word group within either one of our texts given, with the word group choosen we had to rewrite it in four different sentences! And of course, for our last activity we got given a create task. My create task can be found on the very last slide of this presentation! ENJOY!

Rona And The Moon! { T3W5 }

Task Description:
This week for writing we focused on another persuasive piece. Our persuasive writing was all about Rona and The Moon. This story is a well known story throughout New Zealand and it's important that we know and hear this story muiltple times for us to teach generations to come. With today's task we firstly focused on planning our writing. Finding five points to prove weither we agree with our focus or disagree with our focus. Then we selected two main points to focus on throughout our writing piece. My writing can be found within the planning doc or the last slide of this presentation. ENJOY!

A Moon Myth { T3W5 }

𝔸 π•„π• π• π•Ÿ 𝕄π•ͺπ•₯𝕙!

Task Description:
This week's during our distance learning we focused on a moon myth. You may of or may of not heard of this Maori myth, but it is well known throughout New Zealand. Rona and the moon. This presentation came with a voice recording of one text about this myth, a video about this myth, and two texts written by different people to explain this myth. As you can tell. Many, many people enjoy retelling this myth that there are so many copies of it! Our main tasks were to create a storyboard. A storyboard is created on google drawing presenting pictures and texts to explain the story. Usually we use paper to create a story board, but as were doing distance learning we gave a online story board a go. As usual we also broke our text into word groups. Breaking our text makes the story sound easier to understand and to read. It helps point out main points in our story. The following task, a worthy word chart. The worthy word chart helps us to understand new words for further writing pieces. And of course, we got given a create task! As usual we got given two options. I went for option ' A ' My create task can be found on the following slide. ENJOY!

Te Ika A Maui! { T3W4 }

Task Description:
As a level three task we focused on Te Ika A Maui. A story about how North Island was pulled from beneath our sea. There were multiple task to be completed. Breaking our text into word groups, listing worthy words and a create task! Our options were to retell the story or a review that informs any readers about a short film. I choose to rewrite the story which can be found on the last slide of this presentation! ENJOY!

A Maori Myth creation! This week we focused on ' The Legend of Creation. ' all based about papatuanuku and how our Earth and Sky formed in our Maori language. This week's task was quite tricky, task compare and contrast was a task I've never taken on before, so this was a new experiance! ENJOY!C

Mata I Pusi x Afakasi Chameleon { W8T2 }

Walt: Complete multiple tasks with two texts.
Task Description:
This week we have focused on Mata I pusi text and Afakasi Chameleon. Within this presentation there are multiple tasks. The first slide presents vocabulary, words from the Mata I pusi text. This slide we had to full in the meaning of each word and provid a sentence for a example. The second slide is a word cloud. My word cloud is full of words that's all about ME! As for the following slide I have completed a venn diagram. Differences and  similarties between myself and the main character in Mata I Pusi. As for my last slide I have done a poem. Within my poem given I have written down words about who I am, my parents, and my grandparents. Hopefully you enjoy this new task because I difinetly did! Enjoy!

Today we focused on Brown Brother poem. We watched the poem that Joshua losefo presented as a speech at his school assembly, it became popular over time and soon he was mentioned on the news. Task Description:
Today we focused on our vocabulary words listed in the google drawing given above. With our task we had to find the meaning of each word and present a sentence to show we actually understand the word given. I enjoyed today's task because I got to learn new words from a text called " A Tour like no other. "

Infographic x Nelson Mandela { W7T2 }

Walt: Create an infographic about Nelson Mandela

Task Description:
Today we have focused on Nelson Mandela. Our main task was to show a visual infographic about Nelson Mandela. On slide two presents our main focus for today. To complete this task I used a note-taker chart to pull key points from the National Geographic Kids text. With the main points I gathered all the information into category to create my infographic. To view my infographic check on slide five images to take a closer look. Within today's task I have learn't important facts and sacrifices Nelson took to make a huge impact in South Africa. I've also learnt how to make a infographic, hopefully soon I can improve and make a more advanced poster. Enjoy!

Task Description:
Today i'm posting my final and completed task for this week. As for my recent post we focused on washing our hand correctly and thoroughly to get rid of any germs. For today's presentation we worked on finalishing 2-3 sentences to explain a short summary about the one paragraph we focused on. On slide three I have given a few facts I have learn't from my text.

Washing Hands - Note Taking { W6T2 }

Walt: Understand and interpret an information text.

Task Description:
This week our focus is about washing our hands thoroughly. Due to the Covid-19 problem we need to focus on washing our hands to get rid of any germs. Within this presentation we did discussion points, they can be found on slide 3. Our main task for this presentation was to focus on paragraph two, which every other group focuses on another paragraph given in the transcript. Within this presentation on slide five there is a templete showing the pargraph broken into word groups, main point, supporting details and the main point within the transcript. Reading ( today's progress. ) Earth's Water!!

Walt: Identify and summarise key information in a text.

Task Description:
This weeks focus is on earth's water systems. Today we focused on detailed knowledge. Slide two presents our main question. What do you KNOW about earth's water originally came from? On this slide we had to note down information we already knew about planet earth's water. As you may find my notes are only two bullet points, due to me only learning about where our water comes from now. The following slide presents a video, the video is based around where did our earth water come from? Our task was to watch the video three times to find key information. The slide also contains a graphic organiser which contains our bullet points from the video, word groups, and so on. To find the graphic organiser me and my group worked on please check slide four!!
