Malaga Pasifika

Walt: To complete Malaga Pasifika.

Task Description:
Team five has been focusing on Ko Wai Au? Our task was to learn where we come from and our future. Here we all started learning about our journey and places we came from. Secondly, we learnt about three different times. Past , present , and future. 

As for past we watched a video where it explained what pasifika people did in the past to give us a good education. Past we had to learn where our name came from and what our family did to give us a good life.

For present we learnt more about our culture and where we come from. We learnt about what strengths and gifts of pacific people. We also got to create a shield where we listed our skills , qualities , values , and interest on a piece of paper. We also drew our dreams and aspirations as well as our top two jobs , the amount of pay we get , and useful subjects to get our future jobs we went.

Specking out the future we moved onto the future. For the future we started to talk about our future jobs , dreams , and aspirations. Our job was to use on interest we have a find useful jobs towards that one interest. I choose Kapa Haka since I am always interested in Kapa Haka. For future we also looked at what we want in the future and challenges we would face in the future that might stop us for success in our future jobs we do want. 

We also got to choose people who we wanted to be in our life's to help us during our future. I choose people who I thought are kidn and are always by my side.

Moriori: A Story Of Survival.

This week our book is called Moriori: A story of survival. This book is a non-fiction book , this reason is because during the story it states when these events happened during different times. The topic of our book Moriori: A story of survival, is to tell others that full blooded Moriori are not a fiction. Their culture are real people who worked hard for people who took over their island Rekohu. The main idea of this book is to tell the history of Moriori people , how they worked hard , what happened when the British people took over , and other key information that explains Moriori are not a fiction. 

Secondly, I really enjoyed reading this book as I got to learn the culture and history of Moriori. I got to learn a new culture who I didn’t even know existed! One thing I learnt in my new book is the culture of Moriori. I have not heard of this culture before and it is a very strong culture. I also learnt from their culture of traditional wear that people used to wear.

Even though I don’t know any Moriori people I would like to recommend this text to adults who learnt that Moriori was a fiction , as they can learn that Moriori is not a fiction and is a real true culture who worked hard for others. I would also recommend this book to younger kids so they understand that Moriori is real and they can teach their future kids , grandchildren. Facts about the true culture of full blooded Moriori.

Mixture Of Problems!

Rise Up: The Story Of The Dawn Raids!

Task Description:
This week room two reading groups got different activities , for champion we got given a book called ' Rise Up , The story of the dawn raids and the Polynesian panthers ' which is a story based of dawn raids which took place and long time ago. Our task was to relate to the book as much as we can. For the last slide we got to choose and respond to any text and create either a poster/video about the text we choose. There was a last slide but I choose to create another post for that last slide. Enjoy!

My Visual Mihi!

Task Description:

Team five has been working on their visual mihi. Here I am sharing my visual mihi with you all. Our task was to create four things we enjoy doing. In my four corners I have Cook Island flag , Pt England School logo , family , and Te Reo. The Cook Island flag is my second culture. ( Cook Island. ) Te Reo is my other culture ( Maori. ) Pt England School logo is my school I attend to logos , and family is my family.  In the centre of my visual mihi I also have my face and some of my top. This task was fun as I got to draw many things that I enjoy doing. Enjoy!

Reading 1

Did you know that there is a Mars desert research station.They learn about how astronauts  live in small places , they also study about science.About six people in there crew stay at the station for up two weeks.When they want to communicate they use radios.The crew house is called a two story housed.It is probably just like a normal house but it is much more smaller.

Reading 2

In this reading they have asked her some questions and then she had to simply answer it.My favourite question that they asked her was “where did you interest in mars come from”I liked that question because at the end she says that she just discovered that  her grandfather family’s  name is Marziali . Isn't that amazing.

What have both of these activities taught you about space?\

Both of the activities have taught me what they live in which is called a hub.I have also learnt what they do and what they are researching.It is super cool learning about what people do in space and I also like what they are doing and researching.
