Investigation!

Walt: To do a investigation on Libya.

Task Description:
This week we got assigned to find a country starting with the first letter of our name and do a investigation about that country. This country I choose here is Libya.

Our task was to answer a bunch of questions, I only got through three questions. The first question was " How was your country created? " This question was quite hard because in articles about Libya I couldn't find much facts about how Libya was mostly created. But I tired to find as much facts as I could to provided enough facts to answer my question.

Our second question that we were given was " Who is the biggest celebrity in that country? What do they do? " Now this question wasn't as hard as I thought. But the most hardest thing about this question was to find out who was actually the most famous person in Libya. Most people I found were from year ago but I came across this guy.

Our last question we had to answer was " Has your country ever been in war? How did it go? " The question wasn't hard either, but the fact that it was quite hard to find out if they did good our not was hard to find. So I just tired my best to find out any facts about a war in Libya.

I really enjoyed this task because I got to learn about a new country , and I also learnt new facts about Libya. Enjoy!

Book = Battle

Author = Maria Samuela

Fiction

In this story it’s all about a couple of kids at school having a dance battle. This dance battle is very serious, so serious that the main character lost something very special to himself. How? Well let’s find out!

During the story the main character was having a dance battle with this really good talented, Timiona ( the main character. ) got his name pulled out of a hat to battle that one very good talented girl. He had confidence in himself and ended up winning the dance battle. But he loses his great-great grandfather’s special medal! By the end of the story he finds his medal which is mum had the whole time.

I really enjoyed this weeks book because this text was all about a dance battle, i’m sure that Timiona was going through a very tough time wondering where his medal was the whole time. I would recommend this book to kids my age as there is many feelings throughout the book.

Geometry - Orientation!

Walt: Understand and use positional vocabulary.

Task Description:
For this weeks task we are learning about geometry - orientation. What could this be? Well continue reading to find out.

This week we got to do orientation. Which means we made maps , answered questions related to maps , and had to understand the main directions words mean. The first slide we had to understand meaning of a couple of words before starting to create maps or understand maps. By understanding the words we were given we will know more information about using a map and answering questions or even creating questions.

We also got to answer questions from a pre made diagram of a made up class. The questions that came with the diagram of the class room were easy as I understood what the questions meant. After we got to answer some questions we got to create a diagram of our own class! This task was fun as I got to made a diagram and I got to answer questions.

Our next task was to use another map we were given and answer another set of questions on the following slide. These questions were difficult because I didn't understand what they meant and how do I answer them, for the answers I tired as best as I could.

Our last task was to create our own map with around 10 streets and 8 main features on our map. Once we drew out our map we would have to give directions to get to all 8 features for our buddy to complete.

I really enjoyed this weeks math's task because I got to map makes , answer fun questions and got to work with people in my math's class. I hope we got to opportunity to work on these types of math's task again.

Fairy Tales

Walt: Create interesting openings/introduction.

Task Description:
This week for literacy we got to learn to create interesting openings/introductions for our writing. Why? The reason why we had to learn how to make very interesting openings is to hook the reader.

In this task we learned different opening's to hook our reader in different kinds of way. Hopefully you all will enjoy this task and learn something new!

The Grateful Crane!

Walt: Interpret figurative language.

Task Description:
This week we are reading a new book called " Tsuru no ongaeshi , The grateful crane." This book we read today is based on a beautiful Japanese Crane gifting an old couple from helping the Crane from a trapped net.

Our task this week was to understand our book this week. By answering questions from the book we were given. The questions that our teacher gave were easy as I did understood the book this week.

Another task we had to do is create a book review based on this book. When I was writing my book review I re wrote the story to share with younger kids at my school.

I really enjoy doing this task as I got to do a lot of writing and answering questions. If you didn't know I really enjoy writing and so I wrote a lot in our task this week.

Warm up! ( Homework Writing! )

Walt: To create a good writing about how bad homework is.

Warm Up:

Homework is terrible. I hate homework. I work pretty hard in school, and so I don’t know why I have to do so much at home, too. There is a lot of other stuff I’d rather do than homework. I wish we never had to do it anymore.

Our Version:

Homework will forever go downhill, whether it’s writing , reading or maths. It’s unnecessary-unneeded-un convenient and a complete waste of my time. Basically it’s half of my energy wasted on random knowledge. Don’t teachers think 6 hours is enough time to do learning? Well I guess not!

The Grateful Crane - Review / Re-write The Book!

Walt: Interpret figurative language.

Task Description:
Welcome to a new blog post for term 2! This term in reading we are learning about figurative language. In our new task i'm sharing with you all here is a review on our new book this week.

This week my group has been given a book called " Tsuru No Ongeshi, The Grateful Crane! ". As normal we have been also given a task. One of our task was to create a book review. Usually I do long writings for my book review, but as we are going to share with younger kids at my school I thought that a poster will be much suitable for younger kids.

In this task here I created a poster re writing the book we got given. So I basically wrote the whole story but in some places in my own words. I really enjoyed this task because I get to share with others what this weeks book is all about, and I got to learn something new. Which is the Japanese Crane. The Japanese Crane is very beautiful!
